Lemongrass essential oil has a powerful lemony and uplifting aroma. It can be utilised in Aromatherapy in a number of ways. Generally it is not used undiluted, however when it is blended it makes a good massage oil for any muscular aches and pains or sore joints. Many massage therapists who carry out a sports massage will use Lemongrass oil in the massage blend as it’s a great tonic for tired and stressed muscles.
Another use for Lemongrass essential oil is as an insect repellent. You can use the oil blended with other renowned insect repellents such as Basil oil and Citronella oil. Use this is an oil burner or oil diffuser to keep bugs away. A side effect of using this blend, is it also fragrances the room with a fresh and energising scent. Perfect for clearing bad odours from the area such as tobacco smoke or pet odours.
